Michigan has recorded the fifth-highest number of cases and the fourth-highest number of deaths in the nation over the last seven days, according to the CDC COVID Data Tracker.
Additionally, Michigan has the seventh-highest hospitalization rate as a percent of total beds and sixth-highest number of COVID patients in the ICU, according to the Department of Health and Human Services.
There were 415 deaths during the week of Nov. 8 and Nov. 14.
MDHHS says cases and deaths are continuing to increase at an exponential pace; they're rising in all age groups, races and ethnicities.
Since Oct. 1, the state case rate has increased 590% to the highest rates to date, the state said.
Outbreaks continue to rise in long-term care facilities, schools, in-person workplaces and restaurants/bars.
