Holland Hospital offering drive-thru coronavirus testing

Holland Hospital is setting up drive-thru coronavirus testing for screened patients.

The move is part of Holland Hospital's work to contain the outbreak, "flatten the curve" and keep health care workers safe, according to the hospital today.

The drive-thru is only available to patients by appointment through the hospital's free screening hotline.

Nurses from the hotline will schedule the appointment for the patient.

Patients must be screened and have an appointment due to the national shortage of test kits and viral transport supplies, as well as the "mandatate" to preserve health care resources.

"We are confident in our staff’s ability, training and preparation to provide care for all patients," Holland Hospital said.

Anyone experiencing symptoms of respiratory illness - including fever, cough or shortness of breath - can call the hospital's free coronavirus screening hotline at (616) 394-2080 from 7 a.m.-7 p.m., seven days a week to talk with a triage nurse.
