Tuesday evening, Gill Industries announced has learned that an employee at its Alpine location in Grand Rapids, Michigan, has been tested for the COVID-19. At this time, the employee and Gill industries have not been provided with test results.

For the health and safety of the associates, Gill Industries has closed its Alpine location for 14 days effective immediately. The date to return to work is set for April 15.

The full Alpine facility will be professionally cleaned and sterilized by a third-party vendor. The Alpine facility closure is subject to change based on test results. Additionally, Gill’s other Grand Rapids area facilities at Bond Avenue and Plainfield Avenue have been closed temporarily to be professionally sterilized.

Gill’s Plainfield operation had a minimal workforce in place. Those working at the Plainfield facility are providing support as a supplier to the transportation industry as allowed by the U.S. Cyber Security and Infrastructure Security Agency.
