LANSING, Mich. — Michigan's House Oversight Committee held a hearing Thursday morning to discuss vaccine passports, including "prohibiting a governmental entity from producing, issuing or providing an incentive for under certain circumstances."

Watch it here:

"We would ask for local county health departments, as you can do whatever you want, as long as you're not doing anything to diminish or enlarge someone's civil and political rights, privileges and capacities," Rep. Steve Johnson said. "I would hope that something no county health department was already thinking of doing."

Johnson says vaccine passports are a timely issue because other states are "openly talking about" them, and while Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has said she isn't planning to implement them, she didn't rule it out, either.
