ALLEGAN, Mich. — The Allegan County Health Department is requesting patience from residents while they continue to schedule vaccination appointments for COVID-19.

They stress that vaccines remain in short supply and that those eligible for the vaccine may have to wait until vaccine doses restock.

Those currently eligible for the vaccine include individuals aged 65 and over, along with frontline workers and essential workers with frequent contact with others as required by their professions, according to the health department. They say not all essential workers are eligible at this time.

We’re told the health department will notify eligible workers via email this week to schedule their appointments.

The ACHD says with the current supply of vaccines, they are able to administer more than 600 doses per week.

The health department asks residents interested in receiving the vaccine to fill out the “I Want the COVID-19 Vaccine” form on their website, after which they will be notified with further instructions when they become eligible to receive it.
