64,675 coronavirus cases confirmed in Michigan

LANSING, Mich. — The number of positive cases of the coronavirus in Michigan has increased to 64,675.

The number of cases has increased 543 from yesterday, when there were 64,132 statewide cases, according to the Department of Health and Human Services. Yesterday, the state reported 262 new cases.

The state says there have been 5,966 coronavirus deaths in Michigan.

The number of deaths has increased 15 from yesterday, when there were 5,951 statewide deaths. Yesterday, the state reported 4 new deaths.

Statewide, 51,099 people have recovered from the virus as of June 27. A person is considered "recovered" by the state if they are "30 days out from their onset of illness."

In the U.S., there are 2,715,124 cases, and there have been 128,439 deaths — while 729,994 people have recovered, according to the global COVID-19 Dashboard by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
