122,735 coronavirus cases confirmed in Michigan

LANSING, Mich. — The number of positive cases of the coronavirus in Michigan has increased to 122,735.

The number of cases increased 1,308 from Saturday, when there were 121,427 statewide cases, according to the Department of Health and Human Services this afternoon. Numbers are no longer reported on Sunday. On Saturday, the state reported 901 new cases.

The state says there have been 6,731 coronavirus deaths in Michigan.

The number of deaths has increased eight from Saturday, when there were 6,723 deaths.

Statewide, 95,051 people have recovered from the virus as of Sept. 25. A person is considered "recovered" by the state if they are "30 days out from their onset of illness."

In the U.S., there are 7,128,774 cases, and there have been 204,881 deaths — while 2,766,280 people have recovered, according to the global COVID-19 Dashboard by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
