117,910 coronavirus cases confirmed in Michigan

LANSING, Mich. — The number of positive cases of the coronavirus in Michigan has increased to 117,910.

The number of cases increased 504 from yesterday, when there were 117,406 statewide cases, according to the Department of Health and Human Services this afternoon. Yesterday, the state reported 1,536 new cases — over Sunday and Monday.

The state says there have been 6,680 coronavirus deaths in Michigan.

The number of deaths has increased 15 from yesterday, when there were 6,665 deaths. Yesterday, the state reported 12 new deaths — over Sunday and Monday.

Statewide, 85,513 people have recovered from the virus as of Sept. 11. A person is considered "recovered" by the state if they are "30 days out from their onset of illness."

In the U.S., there are 6,875,085 cases, and there have been 200,284 deaths — while 2,615,974 people have recovered, according to the global COVID-19 Dashboard by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
