LANSING, Mich. — The number of positive cases of the coronavirus in Michigan has increased to 115,387.
The number of cases increased 695 from yesterday, when there were 114,692 statewide cases, according to the Department of Health and Human Services this afternoon. Yesterday, the state reported 829 new cases.
The state says there have been 6,638 coronavirus deaths in Michigan.
The number of deaths has increased six from yesterday, when there were 6,632 deaths. Yesterday, the state reported nine new deaths.
Statewide, 85,513 people have recovered from the virus as of Sept. 11. A person is considered "recovered" by the state if they are "30 days out from their onset of illness."
In the U.S., there are 6,696,621 cases, and there have been 198,114 deaths — while 2,540,334 people have recovered, according to the global COVID-19 Dashboard by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
