LANSING, Mich. — The number of positive cases of the coronavirus in Michigan has increased to 114,692.
The number of cases increased 829 from yesterday, when there were 113,863 statewide cases, according to the Department of Health and Human Services this afternoon. Yesterday, the state reported 680 new cases.
The state says there have been 6,632 coronavirus deaths in Michigan.
The number of deaths has increased nine from yesterday, when there were 6,623 deaths. Yesterday, the state reported 11 new deaths.
Statewide, 85,513 people have recovered from the virus as of Sept. 11. A person is considered "recovered" by the state if they are "30 days out from their onset of illness."
In the U.S., there are 6,657,009 cases, and there have been 197,244 deaths — while 2,525,573 people have recovered, according to the global COVID-19 Dashboard by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
