112,612 coronavirus cases confirmed in Michigan

LANSING, Mich. — The number of positive cases of the coronavirus in Michigan has increased to 112,612.

The number of cases increased 1,088 from Saturday, when there were 110,832 statewide cases, according to the Department of Health and Human Services this afternoon. Numbers are no longer reported on Sunday. On Saturday, the state reported 692 new cases.

The state says there have been 6,601 coronavirus deaths in Michigan.

The number of deaths has increased 10 from Saturday, when the state reported 13 new deaths.

Statewide, 85,513 people have recovered from the virus as of Sept. 11. A person is considered "recovered" by the state if they are "30 days out from their onset of illness."

In the U.S., there are 6,545,948 cases, and there have been 194,367 deaths — while 2,450,184 people have recovered, according to the global COVID-19 Dashboard by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
