110,832 coronavirus cases confirmed in Michigan

LANSING, Mich. — The number of positive cases of the coronavirus in Michigan has increased to 110,832.

The number of cases increased 1,313 from yesterday, when there were 109,519 statewide cases, according to the Department of Health and Human Services this afternoon. Yesterday, the state reported 924 new cases.

The state says there have been 6,578 coronavirus deaths in Michigan.

The number of deaths has increased nine from yesterday, when there were 6,569 deaths. Yesterday, the state reported 17 new deaths.

Statewide, 80,678 people have recovered from the virus as of Sept. 5. A person is considered "recovered" by the state if they are "30 days out from their onset of illness."

In the U.S., there are 6,419,545 cases, and there have been 192,448 deaths — while 2,403,511 people have recovered, according to the global COVID-19 Dashboard by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
