LANSING, Mich. — The number of positive cases of the coronavirus in Michigan has increased to 105,377.
The number of cases increased 982 from yesterday, when there were 104,395 statewide cases, according to the Department of Health and Human Services this afternoon. Yesterday, the state reported 685 new cases.
The state says there have been 6,526 coronavirus deaths in Michigan.
The number of deaths has increased seven from yesterday, when there were 6,519 deaths. Yesterday, when the state reported 10 new deaths.
Statewide, 76,151 people have recovered from the virus as of Aug. 28. A person is considered "recovered" by the state if they are "30 days out from their onset of illness."
In the U.S., there are more than 6,176,623 cases, and there have been 187,200 deaths — while 2,266,957 people have recovered, according to the global COVID-19 Dashboard by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
