ALLENDALE, Mich. — A 21-year-old man was hurt after crashing his truck into several mailboxes and a tree in Allendale.
This happened May 30 shortly before 6 a.m. on Lake Michigan Drive near Rosewood Avenue, and police found the Allendale resident walking away from the scene.
He was driving east in his 2008 Chevy pickup, then hit several mailboxes, swerved across the median, struck a tree, and stopped in the road.
The driver was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries, and police suspect that alcohol was involved in the crash.
Westbound lanes of Lake Michigan Drive were closed for an hour and a half as debris was cleaned.
No other vehicles were involved; the crash remains under investigation by the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office.
