BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Police need help locating an 18-year-old man connected to the death of an 18-month-old infant.

Henry Lewis Jones Jr. is believed to be the last adult to have seen the child alive, according to the City of Battle Creek.

First responders attempted to revive the child on Saturday after responding to an emergency call. The city says the child was taken to Bronson Battle Creek Hospital, where they later died.

We’re told Jones looked after the child while its mother, Jones’s girlfriend, was at work. Jones reportedly brought the child to a relative and asked that they call 911. Jones left the residence afterward and has not been sighted since.

Autopsy results have yet to be determined, says the city, adding that police are investigating the incident.
