BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — The landlord accused in the double homicide of a Battle Creek couple is scheduled for a preliminary examination Monday morning.

Battle Creek police say Chad Allan Reed, 53, confessed to the crime in mid-October a week after the couple had gone missing. They say Reed led police to the bodies of Joseph Soule, 34, and Jaclyn Lepird, 31, thereafter.

Reed is scheduled to appear in court at 11:30 a.m. Monday morning.
