Allegan County shooting leaves man dead

MONTEREY TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Police are investigating a homicide in Allegan County after a man was found dead Monday night.

Officers arrived at a home near 30th Street and 130th Avenue in Monterey Township after hearing reports of a shooting around midnight on Nov. 2, according to the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office.

Once there, police were informed that a visitor at the home fired at one of the residents before fleeing the scene.

The victim, identified as Cody Cline, 35, was found lying on the driveway outside the home with a possible gunshot wound, according to police.

Officials say a suspect is in custody after the suspect’s vehicle was found in the aftermath of a collision with a tree. The suspect’s information will be released after charges have been filed.
