Michigan State Police and Detroit Police have seen a string of shootings on major freeways in the last week.

The latest happened Sunday night on I-94 on Detroit's east side.

The non-fatal shooting happened on westbound I-94. Police say a 22-year-old man from Hamtramck was driving erratically in a construction zone and pulled over, blocking traffic near Mt. Elliott.

MSP says the man had been shot, and was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

This was the fifth shooting reported on Detroit freeways in the last week.

On June 29, a 37-year-old female passenger was killed on I-75 near 8 Mile. Detectives say an unknown driver pulled up next to the car she was in and started shooting.

The next day, an off-duty Taylor police officer was shot on eastbound I-94 near Livernois.

On July 1, 49-year-old Charlie Brown of Wixom is accused of shooting a man driving westbound on I-96 near the Southfield Freeway.

Then, on July 2, a man reported to MSP Troopers that a white SUV with tinted windows was swerving in front of him on northbound M-39. He then heard a bang, and later found a bullet hole in his window.

It's not clear if these shootings are connected.
