15-year-old dead in Muskegon after weekend shooting

MUSKEGON, Mich. — A 15-year-old boy is dead after a shooting in Muskegon on Saturday.

Officers arrived on Emerson Avenue on the evening of Oct. 31 after hearing reports of shots fired in the area, according to the City of Muskegon Department of Public Safety. Once there, a 33-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound to the neck. Officials say he was transported to Mercy ER where he later received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

After searching the area, police found the 15-year-old afflicted with gunshot wounds in an alley between East Forest Avenue and Emerson Avenue. Authorities say he died on the scene.
