More than 4,000 women have found a safe haven in their time of need thanks to Degage Ministries. With COVID-19 bringing new challenges, the need for shelter and assistance is higher than ever. Degage Ministries is bringing awareness to the growing number of homeless women in Michigan and beyond with the Pillowcase Project.

The Pillowcase Project is in honor of the 4700 women who have stayed with Degage Ministries at the Open Door Women’s Center since 2003.

Artistic skills are not required; pillowcases can feature anything from an artistic design to a favorite quote or bible verse.

The pillowcases will be displayed at Ah-Nab-Awen Park as part of an exhibit from September 10 through October 1.

Decorated pillowcases can be dropped off at the following locations until September 2:

  • Dégagé Ministries
  • Lions & Rabbits Center for the Arts
  • Lake Michigan Credit Union
    • Alpine, Cascade, Knapps Corner, Hudsonville, 84th Street

For drop-off times, visit degageministries.org or call (616)-454-1661.
