Anyone who has seen the Grand Rapids Symphony perform knows those musicians play in pretty tight quarters. So in order to continue their mission to deliver great music during the pandemic, they announced their new, reimagined series of concerts for fall 2020 called Pathwaves.
Pathwaves is designed so the symphony can continue to present live music to the community while practicing social distancing.
One or two concerts will be held each month September through December. Special guests will include Grand Rapids Ballet in September, and in November, the acclaimed American violinist Joshua Bell and his wife, Larisa Martinez. The Puerto Rican soprano is a frequent collaborator with Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli and others.
Concerts will be broadcast live from the Van Andel Arena and St. Cecilia Music Center, available on Vimeo.
