Grand Rapids is known for celebrating its vibrant art scene, with plenty of art-related studios across the metro area that invite artists of all skill levels to take a chance at trying something new.
One of these locations is The Clayground, a pottery playground where potters can participate in one-time experiences, classes, or monthly memberships. One-time experiences cost $55 per person and last from one-and-a-half to two hours, while classes include beginner hand building and wheel use. All classes are taught by certified instructors.
The Clayground is also able to host private event for guests, such as work events, birthday parties, and more.
Todd, Michelle, and photojournalist Jeff Blakeman had the chance to swing by their studio to get their hands dirty (literally and metaphorically!) under the tutelage of Steph and Sean Sloop.
