GR8 Sports provides funding and advocate for girls in sports

and last updated

Each year over 2,500 girls participate in K-8 after-school sports at Grand Rapids Public Schools. But by age 14, girls start dropping out of sports at twice the rate of boys.

GR8 Sports makes it their mission to keep girls' interest in sports alive, but they need support from the community to encourage these young ladies to continue playing the sports they love.

GR8 Girls’ mission is to provide funding and advocate for girls in sports at GRPS. Throughout the month of February they'll be hosting a variety of fundraisers to support girls after-school sports at GRPS.

The money will be used to provide equipment, uniforms, transportation to and from games, coaches, and other supplies to sports teams at no cost to the students or their families.

GR8 Girls will provide a matching gift of up to $10,000. Patrons can make a donation here.
