Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, so many gathers have had to transition to online events. The same can be said for many summer camps, including the band camp, ESME String Camp.

The Eclectic String Music Ensemble is transforming their traditional String Camp into a virtual format. For the health and safety of their students, they've been developing a program that will allow these young musicians to have a rewarding, fun, and enriching music learning experience this summer right from their own home.

ESME Virtual String Camp is a summer intensive chamber music program for grades 6-12 and college string players, as well as piano students. Students will be taught by highly-renowned musicians from the New York Philharmonic Orchestra and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra as well as teaching artists from The Manhattan School of Music and the Grand Valley State University faculty.

Students will be taken through a tangible learning process from the ground up throughout the course of the camp. They will be taught invaluable lessons on how to use online and virtual performance practices as powerful tools for building themselves as string players and chamber musicians.

The registration fee for the camp is $400. Applications to sign up are due by July 1.

The ESME Virtual String Camp will take place August 3-15.
