GRAND RAPIDS — Work is scheduled to begin on the underground electrical system in Grand Rapids on Monday.

The City of Grand Rapids says the multi-phase project will take place on Weston SW between Commerce and Ionia.

Officals say access to Commerce Alley north will only be accessible for trash pickup and deliveries for about three weeks. Southbound will be one-way.

The project is expected to extend into 2021.
