First positive case of COVID-19 present in Ottawa County

OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. — The Ottawa County Department of Public Health announced on Sunday evening that a resident of Ottawa County tested presumptive positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID). The case is an adult female with no known travel and is in isolation.

OCDPH health officials are working to identify contacts and apprise their level of risk

"We are working to identify individuals who may have come into close contact with the patient so we can take appropriate steps and monitor them closely,” said Dr. Heidel, OCDPH medical director. “We are continuing to collaborate with the state health department and recommend residents continue to practice prevention measures to slow the spread of COVID-19."
