BIG RAPIDS, Mich. — For the second straight year, the Bulldogs have advanced to the Division II national semifinals. They did it Saturday by clawing the Northwest Missouri State Bearcats, 25-3, in Big Rapids.

The Bulldogs will be at home again next Saturday, when they take on West Florida at Top Taggart Field. As of the time of this report, the kickoff time had yet to be announced.

Ferris State is in the Final Four for the third time in four years, after winning the Super Region 3 championship Saturday for the second straight year.
And they did it without last year's D2 National Player of the Year, Jayru Campbell. The former Detroit Cass Tech star injured his ankle last month, ending his season and his collegiate career.

Not to worry: senior quarterback Travis Russell is 13-1 under center. If the Bulldogs beat the West Florida Argonauts on Saturday, they'll advance to the Division II championship game again.

Last year, the Bulldogs were nipped by Valdosta in the national title tilt in Texas, 49-47.
