JENISON, Mich. — Despite life-saving efforts, a teen died after being pulled out of the water Sunday afternoon at the 8th Avenue Community Park.
Calls to 911 came in just after 5 p.m. to report the 15-year-old had gone missing and was thought to be in the water. Rescue crews and bystanders were able to find the young man and take him to Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in critical condition.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s Deputies tell FOX 17 the victim was not able to recover and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Deputies are still investigating and are not releasing the identity of the victim until the family can be notified.
