GRPD identifies man who drowned in Grand River

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Grand Rapids police have identified a man who drowned Monday after falling into the Grand River.

Search crews spent about two hours searching for 44-year-old Alex Huerta, who fell into the water after losing his footing while attempting to walk across the river.

First responders said Huerta was homeless and lived nearby.
