HOLLAND, Mich. - It may be the first full day of fall, but people in West Michigan are still enjoying the last bit of summer.

The mix of sunscreen and apple cider are coming together this weekend. Plenty of people enjoyed an unseasonably hot first day of fall at a busy Holland State Park.

It was 1939 the last time West Michigan had a heat wave with at least 3 days at or above 90 degrees so late in the season.  Many beach goers don’t remember September heat like this because it’s a good 20 degrees above average.
