GRPD: 1 person shot on the city’s SE side

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Police are investigating after they say one person was shot on the city’s southeast side Sunday evening.

Grand Rapids police confirm to FOX 17 that officers responded to the 900 block of Madison SE around 7:30 p.m. Officers were told that a gunshot victim was laying in the street.

Police say the 23-year-old male victim was shot several times, injuring his legs and  pelvis. His injuries are said to be non-life threatening. Authorities say it was reported earlier that the victim was walking down the sidewalk when he was shot.

Two black male suspects reportedly ran off after the shooting. They’re believed to be in their 20’s, wearing  black sweatshirts and light colored jeans.
