HOLLAND, Mich. -- The 14th-ranked Hope College men's basketball team defeated Spalding, Kentucky 79-51 in the first round of Russ DeVette/Holland Sentinel Classic on Monday at DeVos Fieldhouse.
The Flying Dutchmen (6-2 overall) received a game-high 23 points from junior guard Dante Hawkins of Holland, Michigan (Holland HS) and 16 points from senior forward Harrison Blackledge.
Hope will play Johnson & Wales, R.I. on Tuesday at 8 p.m.
