IONIA, Mich.– The Ionia County Road Commission are being credited for clearing the roads as fire crews worked to put out an early morning house fire.
It happened on Saturday around 2:18 a.m.in the 500 block of Price Street in Ionia.
The Ionia Department of Public Safety said there was significant damage to the structure of the home, but the only person inside made it out safety.
Department officials said they appreciate the road commission for clearing the street so they could get through heavy snow and get to the scene.
