HOLLAND, Mich. – An Ottawa County man will spend three to 15 years in prison for his role in a fatal crash in April.

Tyler Himes, 23, of Fillmore Township was sentenced Thursday, according to the Holland Department of Public Safety.

The crash happened on April 18, 2016 on M-40 at I-196.  Lorraine Bossenga, 87, of South Haven, died in the crash.  Police determined that Himes was driving on a suspended license and was speeding at the time of the crash.

Bossenga was a passenger in the vehicle.  The driver, a 78-year-old woman, was also injured.

Himes had pleaded guilty a charge of driving while license suspended, causing death.  Along with the sentence, he has been ordered to pay restitution and court costs.
