HOLLAND, Mich. – An Ottawa County man will spend three to 15 years in prison for his role in a fatal crash in April.
Tyler Himes, 23, of Fillmore Township was sentenced Thursday, according to the Holland Department of Public Safety.
The crash happened on April 18, 2016 on M-40 at I-196. Lorraine Bossenga, 87, of South Haven, died in the crash. Police determined that Himes was driving on a suspended license and was speeding at the time of the crash.
Bossenga was a passenger in the vehicle. The driver, a 78-year-old woman, was also injured.
Himes had pleaded guilty a charge of driving while license suspended, causing death. Along with the sentence, he has been ordered to pay restitution and court costs.
