CLYDE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A 22-year-old Fennville man was seriously injured Wednesday after his vehicle crashed into a train.
The crash happened at about 1:40 p.m. on 118th Avenue near 56th Street. Michigan State Police say the driver was traveling eastbound when he ran into the side of a northbound CSX train.
The vehicle ricocheted off the train and the driver had to be extricated, according to a release.
One of the cars from the train derailed roughly a mile north of the crash. Police said in a release hat 120th Avenue will be closed near 56th Street from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. to “move heavy equipment in” and get the derailed car back onto the tracks.
