KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The Wings West event center was closed down briefly at midday Saturday due to a bomb threat.

However, the venue was cleared shortly after noon, has reopened and events are going on there as planned.

According to the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department, early Saturday a reporter received an e-mail that contained a bomb threat against the building, located at 5076 Sports Drive in Kalamazoo. Canine units were brought in to investigate and morning events were postponed.

Undersheriff Paul Matyas said no bomb was found, that the scene was cleared at 12:30 p.m. and that the Holiday on Ice event went on as planned Saturday afternoon.

“All is safe,” Matyas told FOX 17.

The incident remains under investigation by the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department.
