WEST MICHIGAN — More snow is expected this weekend as a storm system tracks into the Great Lakes. Winter Storm Watches are in effect for Wisconsin this evening, and likely will be issued for West Michigan by Saturday morning.
Our Future Track forecast model has a storm system developing in the Northern Plains by midnight Saturday with snow spreading east to the lakeshore.
The storm will track eastward and move to eastern Iowa by 2 p.m. Sunday. Snow will become heavier late Sunday morning and into the afternoon for West Michigan before diminishing late Sunday night.
Snowfall amounts by Sunday night will be in the range of 3 to 6 inches for West Michigan. Different computer models have different amounts of snow, so it’s possible we could see even heavier snowfall.
