HOLLAND, Mich. — Two Holland boys share the name Nolan, but they have more in common then just their name. When they turned three months old Nolan Weber and Nolan Brouwer were diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a childhood cancer.

Nolan Weber is now six years old and cancer free. He was in treatment at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital for six months. The other Nolan, Nolan Brouwer, is still in treatment at DeVos and has been there since May.

Thursday night in Holland Weber’s Aunt, Katie Ulberg, is hosting the Nolans Toy Drive at Ridgepoint Community Church. Ulberg says, “I wanted to do this toy drive because when I heard my friends baby, Nolan Brouwer, was diagnosed with the same cancer as my nephew, it brought back all the memories of what we went through, all those years ago and back.”

Ulberg had always wanted to do something for DeVos Children’s Hospital so when Brouwer was diagnosed she began organizing a holiday party and toy drive to give back to all the kids, like him, who will be spending their holiday in the hospital.
