Guiding light helps men recover from addiction over the holidays

Getting the decorations out, buying gifts, and mailing out cards can bring out a lot of stress during the holidays. That stress can also add to those who are battling with addiction.

Steve Pratt from Guiding Light came to the Morning Mix to talk about how they help men in West Michigan recover from addiction.

Thanks to their Recovery Program, they help men fight substance abuse and get them back on their feet. During the process, they provide them a place to live, warm meals, and help them find a job.

Guiding Light will be hosting a Community Christmas meal for those who don't have anywhere to go for the holidays. On Sunday, December 18 from 12 to 1:30 p.m. everyone from the community can eat a warm meal, followed by dessert and coffee.

For just $1.86, you can feed one person a meal of ham, mashed potatoes with gravy, stuffing, and dessert. If you're interested in volunteering for the event, email Starla at starla@lifeonthestreet.org.
