FBI agent arraigned on charges of shooting at Grand Rapids cop

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – An employee of the FBI has been charged with Felonious Assault and other charges after shooting at Grand Rapids police officer.

Ruben Hernandez, 31, was arraigned Wednesday on three charges: Felonious Assault, Assault with Intent to do great bodily harm and Brandishing a Weapon in public.

Hernandez is an agent with the FBI and is based in Las Vegas.  He was in Grand Rapids working on a case.

Hernandez’s attorney told the court he was paranoid and didn’t recall much of what happened. He also said that he has no prior criminal record and the incident may have been influenced by alcohol.

The judge set Hernandez’s bond at $70,000.  He is permitted to leave the state, provided he returns for court appearances.
