HOLLAND, Mich. – A suspect has been arrested for allegedly shooting up a home during a gang retaliation incident earlier in 2016.
The West Michigan Enforcement Team, the Holland Department of Public Safety and the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department say they’ve been investigating several gang-related shootings in the Holland area. On January 17th, a group of suspected gang members allegedly met and then carried out a shooting at an occupied home near 31st and VanRaalte. Several bullet holes were found in the home from at least two weapons.
Through interviews and investigations, one suspect was identified. Investigators say that the suspect admitted to shooting at the residence and later destroyed the weapon.
The suspect was charged this week with shooting at an occupied dwelling, felony firearms, gang affiliation and being a habitual offender.
