Holland teen dies after being hit by car Monday night

HOLLAND, Mich. – A 14-year-old Holland boy has died after being hit by a car Monday night.

Raymond Lemus died Thursday at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids.

He was critically injured when he was hit by a vehicle while crossing Lincoln Avenue near Veterans Drive at about 10 p.m. Monday night.  Investigators say that it was raining hard at that time.

The crash remains under investigation, but Holland Department of Public Safety investigators say the driver, a 19-year-old woman, does not appear to be at fault.
