KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety is investigating after a car crashed into a light pole on South Westnedge avenue, causing the pole to fall down in the street.
It happened at the intersection of West Michigan avenue and South Westnedge avenue around 4:24 a.m. Sunday.
Deputies say South Westnedge avenue was closed from West Michigan avenue to Academy street briefly until Consumers Energy crews could remove the down power line.
The at-fault driver fled the scene on foot and has not yet been located.
