Pedestrian dies after being hit by a Jeep in Ottawa Co.

GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A 30-year-old man has died after being hit by a vehicle Sunday evening.

Ottawa County deputies say Korey Taphouse was hit by a 2012 Jeep Wrangler just before 6:00pm along Port Sheldon Street near 40th Avenue in Georgetown Township.  The department reported that Taphouse died just before 6:00am Monday.

The Jeep was driven by a 46-year-old Hudsonville woman.  The crash remains under investigation.

Friends say that Taphouse was employed in the service department of Grand Rapids Harley Davidson.
