GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – 1,600 customers in downtown Grand Rapids were without power this morning after a 46,000 volt line failed, according to Consumers Energy.

Power was restored at about 9:30am.  The cause is still under investigation.

Some locations have started their holiday weekends early.  The downtown Grand Rapids Library has tweeted that they are closed, due to the outage.  The Grand Rapids Children’s Museum has also closed.
