Some snow for Thanksgiving travelers

Posted

WEST MICHIGAN — A storm system will bring some wet snow and rain for travelers the next few days.

Our Future Track model shows mainly rain from Grand Rapids south for Wednesday afternoon. North of I-96 the precipitation will stay mainly in the form of wet snow.

The snow will accumulate on the grassy areas, but roads should be warm enough to melt the snow as it falls. Highs will reach the upper 30s to around 40.

The snow will be gone by Thanksgiving Day with skies remaining mostly cloudy. A few rain showers are possible. Highs will reach the low-mid 40s.

Snowfall accumulations will be around an inch or less in the Grand Rapids area. Trace amount are expected south. Areas north of a Whitehall to Mt. Pleasant line could see 1-2 inches by early Thursday.
