GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The head of the Michigan Veteran Health System is stepping down.
Leslie Shanlian oversaw the two state-run veteran’s homes, including the one in Grand Rapids. She was appointed CEO in October 2015.
Shanlian took over after complaints surfaced about veterans’ care at the home. The agency tells FOX 17 she is leaving the position for personal reasons.
Brad Slagle, the current operating officer of the veterans home in Marquette, will fill Shanlian’s role until a permanent replacement is found.
