GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Hundreds of racers came out to Christ Church PCA in their pajamas Saturday for the 4th annual Long John Run.
Participants had the option of either walking in the three mile race or running.
Race director John Vanderveen says the event brings people from all walks of life to raise funds and awareness for a West Michigan organization dedicated to helping others.
"We just wanted to get people outside and moving and its a fun run," Vanderveen says.
Proceeds from the race will benefit Mel Trotter Ministries of Grand Rapids in it's mission to provide shelter to the homeless and food to families in need.
