Holiday fun awaits in Todd’s Weekend Adventures

The holidays are only weeks away, here's some events to get you out of the house and have some fun.

Cranksgiving

Part bike ride, part food drive, part scavenger hung. If that sounds like fun to you, you should check out Cranksgiving in Holland on Saturday from 12 to 3 p.m.

Velo City Cycles presents a fun way to do some good for those in need around the holidays. Participants crank their way through an 8-10 mile ride stopping at checkpoints to collect food.

You get a shopping list and map, then hop on your bike. There's no registration fee, but bring around $10-$20 to buy the non-perishable food items that you'll be picking up.

The first to get all of the items and to the finish line wins. Racing is not required, you can just show the kids a fun way to be charitable around the holidays.

Santafest

Santa Claus is on his way, and today is the last day to register for Santafest at Woodland Mall.

Your kids can visit with Santa, write a wishlist, have their face painted, sing carols, and enjoy story time with milk and cookies. The first 50 people to register receive a $10 Woodland Mall gift card. Along with the free activities and take home craft is a special Santa photo offer only for those that RSVP, which ends at 5 p.m.

The party is from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 12.

Movies in the Park

Maybe you and the family want to take in a movie? Come downtown as the Movies in the Park series has moved indoors. The next movie is "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York" and will be playing at the UICA in downtown Grand Rapids.

The film starts at 5:30 p.m. and seating is first come first served. The movie is free and concessions will be for sale.
