Teen shot overnight in Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A Grand Rapids teen was wounded in an early morning shooting on the southeast side.

Police say they were called to a shooting in the 1400 block of Cass Avenue SE about 12:30am.  When they arrived, they didn’t find any victims.

At about 2:00am, police were called to an area hospital where a 17-year-old male was being treated for a gunshot wound to his upper torso.  His injuries are said to be non-life threatening.

Police say witnesses have told them that the victim was walking on Cass Avenue when he was shot.  It is unknown where the shots came from.
